The 'Gremlins' campaign to enrol people in Adult Literacy & Numeracy courses was the second most successful COI campaign ever, beaten only by the RAF recruitment — which to be fair is a bit sexier. 
We used Gremlins as a way to get people to recognise themselves and their behaviour , and wrote scripts around moments they could identify with. 
The campaign was referenced many times in the wider media, including by some of my favourite comedians at the time...
